About Vulcan Park

Visit Vulcan Park & Museum in Birmingham, AL to see the massive iron statue of Vulcan (the Roman god of fire and forge), by Italian sculptor Giuseppe Moretti, atop a tower on Red Mountain. In 1903, James A. MacKnight commissioned Moretti to create Vulcan as Alabama’s exhibit for the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. Vulcan has become a beloved symbol of our city and we recommend seeing it for yourself! The Vulcan Park & Museum also hosts many musical festivals, community events, and more throughout the year. To learn more, you can go to visitvulcan.com
